Bohol the 2nd time around

Unlike most people I know who prefer Boracay's beach party culture, I prefer a more quiet solace away from the noise and crowd of the city. Hence, I find Bohol a better prospect for a beach getaway.

Last June, I had the chance to visit this thriving beach destination along with my colleagues. We stayed at the posh Amorita Resort.

That was my second time in Bohol, the first was in 2004, with Ariel.

The beach is still as inviting as I remembered. Only, I didn't have time to really enjoy it. We came just two days ahead of Typhoon Frank and it has been raining most of our stay. We were fortunate to fly back to Manila just before Visayas felt the full rage of Frank, leaving a trail of devastation in Iloilo and Kalibo.

Anyway, I would really like to come back soon. This time, Ariel's joining me. And we're getting a pool villa.

What is the meaning of the color ORANGE?

According to about.com, ORANGE is...

...is vibrant. It's a combination of red and yellow so it shares some common attributes with those colors. It denotes energy, warmth, and the sun. But orange has a bit less intensity or aggression than red, calmed by the cheerfulness of yellow.

It is a stimulant — stimulating the emotions and even the appetite. Orange can be found in nature in the changing leaves of fall, the setting sun, and the skin and meat of citrus fruit.

Orange brings up images of autumn leaves, pumpkins, and (in combination with Black) Halloween. It represents the changing seasons so in that sense it is a color on the edge, the color of change between the heat of summer and the cool of winter.

Because orange is also a citrus color, it can conjure up thoughts of vitamin C and good health.

If you want to get noticed without screaming, consider the color orange — it demands attention.

Squidoo describes orange as:

Orange, a close relative of red, sparks more controversy than any other hue. There is usually strong positive or negative association to orange and true orange generally elicits a stronger "love it" or "hate it" response than other colors. Fun and flamboyant orange radiates warmth and energy. Interestingly, some of the tones of orange such as terra cotta, peach or rust have very broad appeal.

How the color orange effects us mentally and physically
* Stimulates activity
* Stimulates appetite
* Encourages socialization

So, why the sudden interest in the color orange?

Because my new kitchen is in a fun shade of orange!!!

Question on Bantayan Island Accommodation

Thank you RoMa for your question. I thought I'd just post here so I can also post some photos again.

Anyway, the photos below are right in front of Marlin Resort. So, yes, it has a fabulous beach front. Sta. Fe Resort is just beside the pier so aside from the noise of approaching boats, they also bring to the shore some debris. Hence, between the two, I'd recommend Marlin.

Just a word of caution though. The rooms at Marlin are just ok - not exactly 5 star. The rooms are big, clean and comfortable. No fancy amenities there. For us, that's just fine but others prefer more posh accommodations. They do have a restaurant and bar. I guess they cover all the basics.

I hope that answered your question. Enjoy your vacation!
